  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. Quaker Oats (quick or possibly old fashioned), uncooked
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 inch square baking pan. Beat together butter and sugar; blend in egg. Add in combined flour, oats, baking pwdr, cinnamon, salt, applesauce, and water; mix well. Mix in almonds; spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 min or possibly till golden. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if you like. Store loosely covered. 9 servings.
