Ingredients
- 2 med apples
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 x tart crust
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions
- Peel and quarter apples. Remove seeds and slice into thin slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice and toss apples to coat. Set aside.
- Roll tart crust and place on a 11-by-13-inch baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle the center half of the crust with 1/4 c. brown sugar. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg over the sugar.
- Arrange apples in circular pattern over the sugar mix, overlapping the fruit. Dot with butter that has been cut into small pcs. Sprinkle remaining sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg onto the tart.
- Roll edges of the pie crust over half the apple mix, leaving half of the apples in the center visible.
- Brush edges with egg wash. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-45 min. Sprinkle each piece with confectioners' sugar before serving.
