Ingredients
- "These cookies literally heat in your mouth. They are white, but can be tinted with food coloring in pastel colors if you like. They are irresistible"
- 2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 4 c. confectioners' sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 c. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 4 ounce minced walnuts
Directions
- Into large bowl of electric mixer, sift together flour, confectioners' sugar and salt; add in shortening, vanilla and minced walnuts; using low speed, mix all ingredients till just blended. Roll dough on floured counter into 1 1/2" cylinders. Chill for at least 30 min till hard sufficient to slice.
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Remove dough from refrigerator; slice into 3/8" thick slices; place on prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 min. Cookies should be white, if they turn brown, reduce cooking time.
