Ingredients

  • 2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 4 c. Flour
  • 3 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Oil
  • 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
  • 4 x Large eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 pkt Vanilla Pudding Mix Instant Raisins, Nuts, Apples Optional

Directions

  1. Don't chill starter at any time, cover with a cloth and stir only with plastic or possibly wooden spoon.
  2. Day 1: Receive Starter (if you do not have starter, combine 1 c. each of lowfat milk, flour and sugar)
  3. Day 2, 3, 4: StirDay 5: Add in: 1 C. each of flour, lowfat milk and sugar Day 6, 7: StirDay 8, 9: Do nothingDay 10: Add in: 1 C. each of flour, lowfat milk and sugar
  4. Put 1 c. of starter in 3 containers to share with friends or possibly keep 1 for yourself.
  5. Add in remaining ingredients (oil, 1 c sugar, brown sugar, Large eggs, vanilla, soda, salt, 2 c flour, cinnamon, and pudding). Beat by hand, and bake in greased loaf pans (2 large or possibly 4 mini) at 325 for about 1 hour.
  6. NOTES : Usually in spring many new families move..this Friendship Bread makes sufficient for the outgoing neighbors and the incoming ones..I've made many times in the last 5 years..My kids love it too!! The Gingerbread..well, we all know how good it smells to bake..Enjoy and open those windows..
