  1. FRIENDSHIP BREAD STARTER: Take flour, lowfat milk and salt to visit friend with starter. Add in each to friends' starter, mixing well. Divide starter in half, returning one part to friend, and taking other half home with you. Place your part in your starter bowl. You now have a Friendship Bread Starter.
  2. AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD INSTRUCTIONS: Keep at room temperature. Use a glass container. Don't use a metal spoon (use a wooden one). Don't chill.
  3. Use only plain (non-rising) flour.
  4. Day 1 The day you get your starter, do nothing
  5. Day 2 Stir with a wooden spoon
  6. Day 3 Stir with a wooden spoon
  7. Day 4 Stir with a wooden spoon
  8. Day 5 Add in 1 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. lowfat milk and stir
  9. Day 6 Stir with a wooden spoon
  10. Day 7 Stir with a wooden spoon
  11. Day 8 Stir with a wooden spoon
  12. Day 9 Stir with a wooden spoon
  13. Day 10 Add in 1 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. lowfat milk and stir.
  14. Get three glass containers and put one c. of mix in each container, Give a copy of these instructions and a c. of starter to 3 friends. To remaining batch add in 2/3 c. oil, 3 Large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 and 1/4 tsp baking pwdr, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt. Pour into 2 well greased and sugared loaf pans, or possibly 1 bundtpan. Top with anything you like such as, sliced apples, dry or possibly candied fruit, nuts, coconut, etc. or possibly leave plain Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 50 min. (Check after 30 min.) Cold 10 Min BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN. Slice and serve.
