Ingredients
- 1 c. Water
- 1Â 1/4 c. Boiling water
- 2 c. Raw cashews
- 1 Tbsp. Salt
- 1 tsp Garlic pwdr
- 1/3 c. Plus
- 1 Tbsp. (rounded) emes unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 c. Yeast flakes
- 2 tsp Onion pwdr
- 1/4 c. Lemon juice
- Â Â Pimento -or possibly-
- 1/2 lrg Red pepper -or possibly-
- 2 tsp Paprika (about)
Directions
- This "cheese" has the consistency of real American cheese and can be thinly sliced.
- Soak gelatin in the 1 c. water in blender while assembling remaining ingredients. Pour boiling water over soaked gelatin and whiz briefly to dissolve. Cold slightly. Add in cashews and whiz thoroughly. Add in remaining ingredients. Blend till mix is the consistency of a creamy sauce, with no bits of pimento visible. Pour into a 1 quart. mold, cold slightly. Cover before refrigerating. Chill overnight before serving. After firming in the fridge., this cheese may be frzn till needed.
