Ingredients Convert Measures

  • 4 x Cornish Hens, giblets removed
  • 3 cl Garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Seasoned salt
  • 1/2 c. Oil
  • 1 c. Fresh lemon juice
  • 12 tsp Italian salad dressing
  • 1/2 c. Minced onions
  • 1 x Pepper
  • 1 tsp Crushed thyme

Directions

  1. Grill Method
  2. Blend garlic, seasoned salt, oil, lemon juice, dressing, onions, pepper, and thyme.
  3. Marinate the birds overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Cut the birds lengthwise.
  5. Cook on outside grill, bone side down 10 min, flesh side down 5 min, alternating 10 min and 5 min in this manner for about an hour and basting with marinade frequently (at least every 5 min) while barbequing.
  6. Oven Method
  7. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  8. Place skin side up in a shallow pan, baste with marinade, cover with foil and roast for 30 min.
  9. Remove foil and brush with marinade again.
  10. Roast again uncovered for 20-30 min (brush with marinade again after about 10 min).
