I’m a chocolate aficionado! And you can’t even imagine what I mean by that. But if there is anything that stands a place with chocolate is Citrus Cakes. And such tried, tested and family favorite recipes are just one needs to start a journey in baking. I have a similar recipe but LIME is my favorite citrus! YUM

Oh my, lovely photos and cake! Loved the spider too… I wonder what program you use to reduce your photos so that they don’t lose resolution… I must use the wrong method.

I’ve to admit first that I had to skip most of the entry because of the spider. {blush} I quickly looked for the crumb/slice photo (love it) then the recipe. This looks so good, Jamie! I’d have to bake this soon, perfect for tea this autumn.

Wow. Fabulous. Its a must try Deeba. Will the recipe work if I replace lemon with oranges or instead of lemon 1-2 tbsp of orange juice and go for orange glazing?

Oooh when I skimmed through the recipe I initially thought there was no butter in it, and was thinking how good this cake would be for me! Lol. Looking back I can see that there is some butter in it, but that’s not gonna stop me from trying this out.

I’m reading this as I sip on a mojito fruit soda (mojito w/o alcohol and with sparkling water)…thinking of how delicious limes are.

Your pound cake is gorgeous, the pastel streaks are a unique decorative touch.

Beautiful, Deeba. You can tell from the picture of the slice that the texture is just perfect! I love simple citrus cakes and make a similar recipe with homemade plain yogurt. When I’m out I use sour cream or buttermilk. Try your cake with orange sometime and use an orange glaze. Yum!
