This group is the right one for me! I leave in Rome, I was born in Rome...so with you I feel at home. I can share with you the best of my knowledge about the real roman life....please come and visit us from June it's plenty of open air things to do. Townhall give the possibility to many restaurant to "use" monuments where you can eat at candle light.....
Would love to be in Rome this summer! The last time I was in Rome (2007), I actually got on one of the double-decker buses and toured the city. Not something I would have normally done, but it was a great way to take in Roman history.
Ciao Mihir, I think one day I will catch the double-decker as well to feel more on holiday in my lovely town. I think it's a nice way to havea "taste" of Rome in a short time!
By the way I'm the "classical" Italian, because I go around by scooter, so I don't know if it will never happen.
Shortly I will write a recipe for a mediterreanean pasta, but I need more time than you because I'm not so familiar with english terms for cooking!
A presto (Let's hear from you soon).
I would much rather rent a scooter to see Rome than take a bus, now that you mention it. That would be a great way to see the city - if you live through the experience. Looking forward to your pasta recipe - I'll definitely try it!
I love walking around Rome. There is so much to see, I'm afraid I'll miss something if I'm moving too fast. I've taken a taxi or two, but I've covered miles and miles on foot, and loved every little shop, trattoria, church, bit of architecture, museum. So much to see. However, I imagine a bus would be great if time were limited, and it would be a wonderful way to get one's bearings, and see where things are in relation to one another.
Ciao Paola! I agree, this is a great group. I lived in Rome for 10 years and loved every minute. For the first seven years, close to Campo de' fiori, then out close to Divino Amore, where we had a great big orto, peach, pomegranate and olive trees, and even a chicken coop!
Plan to share my favorite Roman recipes here... hope to see yours too!
Happy you enjoy Rome! I miss my town a lot, it's over 18 months that I live in Milan, I like it but it's completely different in term of life style, mentality and food...I have to admit that in Milan restaurant are fantastic as well!!!
Living in Campo dei Fiori I'm sure you enjoy Rome!!!

There's something about this cuisine and the pairing of simple red wine that takes me away. Absolutely love this kind of lifestlye. Hope you do too.
