My husband and I are dieting. Nutrisystem, to be exact. Meaning that cooking is pretty much not happening around my house until I lose another 20-30 pounds. (He's got less to go, but he'll be getting a lot of store-bought pre-cooked or frozen meals after that.)
Seems weird that I join a cooking site at this point in my life, right? But, oddly, reading recipes and watching cooking shows and such actually helps with my hunger and the boredom of pre-cooked meals instead of making me miserable. Go figure.
I think part of it is my intention to change my cooking habits to a generally healthier style. And some of it is the influence of my son's girlfriend, who is attending culinary school.
At any rate, here I am. I probably won't be posting many recipes for awhile, as pretty much all of those I have right now are copyrighted.
Pre-diet I had taken to doing a lot of off-the-cuff cooking, with pretty good results. The problem is that I didn't record what I threw in (or even measure it in most cases), so it's hard to recreate. The few things I've tried to capture as recipes were scribbled down after the fact and with a lot of guessing, so I'd like to make and taste them again before I share them.
I'll do what I can to contribute for the time being, but my act probably won't kick in for another 6 months or so.
