Cooking Influences
Most of my cooking influences come from my eating experiences. As active duty military for the past 12 years, I've done my share of traveling around the world. I also spent seven years in Hawaii, where its all-inclusive nature to meals really inspired me to branch out and understand the history surrounding every dish.
In 2010 I started to recognize some important food/health relationships: mainly that a grain free, whole-food diet can do wonders for one's health and vitality. I also noticed that many traditional dishes - those passed down over generations which are quickly being replaced by fast food - are full of healthy ingredients, or can be with a little revision. My goal is to reinvigorate my cuisine (and yours) with simple, traditional dishes.
