Just a home cook. No ambition to be a Chef, just love feeding family and friends. My passion is writing about food and sharing with as many people as possible. I am married with two children... and the delights of my life, four beautiful grandchildren. Life is good. My husband and I now retired from the business, we built up. Two Television Music Channels. They are in the safe hands of our children. How good is that? Now I have time to devote to food, travel, spending time on our yacht, reading, listening to music, watching movies and television, particularly Food TV, imbibing wine with friends and family. Can't ask for much more than that really. Its hard... but someone has to do it. and luckily its me.
Elizabeth David, Julia Child and funnily enough a couple of well worn cookbooks from the 70's. A little compilation put out by The Lower Hutt Plunket Society called "Triple Tested Cook Book" and The Australian Woman's Weekly Cookbook. These books got me on the road to experimenting with food. All those Dinner Parties. Slaved over. Preparing for days. Thanks god those days are gone. But I'd have to say, even after all of my hundreds of cook books, (which I love)... Food TV has been the greatest inspiration. To have access to so many great Chefs with their teaching techniques. It's like going to Culinary School. Don't worry so much about recipes, just learn how food works. That's what people have been doing ever since life began. What a wonderful world food opens up to you. I love it
